The Business Development team member will directly impact our sales and database management efforts through actively contacting clients/prospects on a daily basis.

JOB SUMMARY

Assist in keeping the SKC database updated with correct client information and generate new leads for the sales team. 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Meet or exceed call quotas, number of new contacts in SalesForce and lead counts - all in an effort to increase sales revenue.
  • Responsible for generating new business opportunities for SKC account executives.  This will include management of the contacts you are working with - developing a system to organizing names and call times - when to follow up, when to send materials, when to enter into SalesForce, etc.
  • Responsible for understanding all aspects of SalesForce and the importance of getting all the correct client/prospect information so that we can market our varied lines of business to existing clients/prospects.
  • Ensure SalesForce is utilized consistently and properly by inside sales and the account executives.
  • Send all leads to manager for distribution to sales team, partner with the AE to monitor performance of each lead, and provide feedback to your manager on progress.  Maintain current lead reports.
  • Calls to clients & prospects will result in identifying contacts and other pertinent information for video, integration, headsets and voice within each organization.
  • Call organizations in our database that aren’t clients and get the same information outlined in above in number one.
  • Partner with AE on assigned call campaigns as need to review script, discuss key points of call, etc.
  • Trade show lead follow up.
  • New lead generation from lists, specific vertical markets and geographic territories. This will include pulling lists from Hoover's for specific markets as needed.
  • Set appointments for Account Executives.
  • Provide any other support to ensure SKC operates up to standards on a daily basis.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education
College degree preferred.
 
Experience

  • Experience in calling organizations to obtain information about client/prospect.
  • Willingness to make outbound calls from an assigned list or our database on a consistent basis.
  • Two years inside or outside sale experience needed.
  • Some college preferred.

Ability to analyze customer situations, make decisions and solve problems under pressure.  Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and detail.  Basic numeric skills.  Ability to maintain positive working relationships with management, co-workers, clients and vendors.  Ability to communicate effectively face-to-face, in groups, and via telephone and written communication.  Ability to travel.  Ability to sit for long periods of time entering computer data, researching leads, and telephone communication (up to eight (8) hours).  Ability to be detail oriented, work without supervision and must be available during working hours.
