MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES AND DUTIES

  1. Responsible for generating new business.
  2. Responsible for maintaining and building relationships with customers.
  3. Promote new product lines and services to customer base.
  4. Communicate with supervisor regarding activity in your territory.
  5. Share ideas with co-workers on ways to increase service and sales.
  6. Turn in administrative paperwork on a timely basis.
  7. Become technically proficient with all of SKC’s products and be dedicated to excellent customer service.
  8. Meet or exceed individual goals on a monthly basis.
  9. Provide technical support to customer’s presales and post sales applications.
  10. Lead generation and follow up.
  11. Provide any other support to ensure SKC operates up to standards on a daily basis.

Travel

Outside sales position will require travel.   Approximately 50% travel expected, mostly day trips.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

College degree preferred

Experience

  1. Candidates should have a proven track record selling complex telephony solutions to enterprise, SMB, and government/education accounts.
  2. Avaya solutions sales experience is preferred.
  3. Position is based in the (to be determined) area, although sales territory could cover a multi-state area.
  4. Strong prospecting and business development skills are required.
  5. The successful candidate will also be augmented with an outstanding leads base to work from consisting of existing SKC clientele.

General Qualifications

Ability to analyze customer situations, make decisions and solve problems under pressure.  Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and detail.  Basic numeric skills.  Ability to maintain positive working relationships with management, co-workers, clients and vendors.  Ability to communicate effectively face-to-face, in groups, and via telephone and written communication.  Ability to travel.  Ability to sit for long periods of time entering computer data, researching leads, and telephone communication (up to eight (8) hours).  Ability to be detail oriented, work without supervision and must be available during working hours.
