Case Study

In early 2015, SKC Communications began working with the City of Ft. Collins, specifically the Poudre Fire Department, to install a fully functional Polycom videoconferencing suite to replace their existing technology.

The goal was to update their existing Cisco video platform to include systems offering a better overall video experience, both in call quality and flexibility. Also, the City of Fort Collins wanted to drive the use of mobility and two-way video from devices other than room systems. There was also a need to absorb audio conference calls, up to 96 audio participants, with a joint voice/video bridge solution.

In addition to the Polycom core infrastructure, SKC also installed Polycom® RealPresence® Web Suite. This is a web based solution that allows users to use a web browser to collaborate with anyone, anywhere, without the physical hardware required for room systems. Since the initial SKC install, we’ve since added three additional Polycom® RealPresence® Group Series endpoints to their environment and are planning to add an additional RealPresence® Collaboration Server 1800 to meet their capacity needs.
