Case Study

In 2014 we began to work with University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUHSC) to upgrade their existing Polycom video infrastructure. We wanted to migrate them from their end-of-life equipment to the new Polycom® RealPresence® Platform. We worked in conjunction with the Polycom Project Management team to coordinate the very detailed network requirements and network architecture, so this new platform can manage hundreds of endpoints across multiple OUHSC campuses throughout Oklahoma.

This process included a migration from their existing management server, CMA, to the Polycom® Resource® Manager, as well as a move from their existing firewall traversal solution, VBP®, to the Polycom® RealPresence® Access Director. In addition to the new Polycom core infrastructure, we also added Polycom® RealPresence® Media Suite for the ability to record and stream their video calls. This also gives them the ability to archive these meetings for training purposes.

Each of these servers were hardware based and we included a redundant servers with each for resiliency in case of a server outage. This gives the customer the ultimate peace of
mind. We also installed Polycom’s cloud-based video solution. This gives their users the ability to join video calls from a web browser using only a webcam giving them a great deal of flexibility and presence. Lastly, we integrated their new Polycom infrastructure with their Avaya Communication Manager. This gives voice users the ability to join a conference call from their audio device along with video participants.
